SW Energy (Shockwave Energy Sdn Bhd) is the clean-energy arm of Shockwave Group — a Kuala Lumpur events, exhibition and construction group established in 2009. We focus on two fields, with equal weight: mini-hydro power plants and solar PV power plants in Malaysia.

- EPCC — Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning, combining leading renewable-energy design institutions in China with Malaysian construction partners.
- BOOM — Build, Own, Operate, Maintain under a long-term power purchase agreement.
- Investment partnership — connecting bankable projects with investors and financing.
What we’re working on now
Our first mini-hydro development is underway in Malaysia, currently in early site works. SW Energy acts as the project’s consultant and connector — bringing together the engineering design team in China, the licensed water-rights owner, and the project investor.
Who leads SW Energy
Andrew Chu — Co-Founder & Director. Over 17 years across events, construction and interior architecture as founder of Shockwave Group; at SW Energy he leads project planning, site management and cost control.
Bryan Lim — Co-Founder & Director, based in Beijing. Specialises in China business policies and institutional relationships, with a background in international commercial banking.
Lee Ping Haw — Co-Founder & Director. Former Regional Vice President at Bank of China Malaysia and a Certified Financial Planner; he structures long-term financing, PPA revenue models and investment partnerships.
